Happy New Year to all Living Beings!

When The Pure View first came online, back in March 2012, it was the intention to bring the Dharma to the internet. Not only news about Buddhists, such sites already exits, but genuine Dharma news, and in a non-sectarian way. It is the philosophy of The Pure View that many practitioners can benefit from a broader understanding of the Dharma, that said the internet is not your teacher, and so The Pure View does not try to be one. From the beginning The Pure View had two types of content: Firstly featured articles that are exclusive to the blog and secondly the latest from the world of Buddhism on the net. Although featured articles – or “Pure Teachings” as they are called – are among the most read on the blog, The Pure View has quickly become a front page of Buddhism on the web and offers content in a way no other Buddhist website offers it and on top of that being independent from any Buddhist sect or organization.

As The Pure View got more and more popular, visitors numbers grew beyond all imagination. On Christmas day the number of visitors passed 20.000 and the daily visitor number in December 2012 was 277 in average, more than 90% are from the U.S. The visitor trend is indeed positive and so the success is expected to continue into 2013.

Lucid dreaming and Tibetan dream yoga are hot topics and so the article series on dream yoga was some of the most read content in 2012 and the 3 part series let the reader trough daytime as well as night time practice and how to dispel obstacles in dream yoga practice and the series is entirely based on Guru Rinpoche’s Natural Liberation.

Also karma is a much discussed subject in Buddhist circles and so The Pure View provided insights into its workings with 2 articles on karma. The first part explained what karma is not while the second part discussed karma and emptiness. Also a crash course in Buddhist emptiness made its way to The Pure View.

Buddhism being atheistic, the madhyamaka refusal of a creator god was covered in a June article and was later followed up with an explanation of the non-Buddhist view of god in advaida vedanta.

The Pure View exists today on several platforms:

  1. Pinterest
  2. Facebook fan page
  3. Twitter

As well as Stumble and Reddit, so please sign up!

In 2013 The Pure View will have even more featured content – Pure Teachings – and will continue to be the front page of Buddhism on the world wide web. Hence, The Pure View is currently looking for writers and photographers and those interested can contact Sherab Namgyal.
