The screening takes place at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 12:30PM as part of the 17th Annual ARPA International Film Festival. The film has been nominated for the festival’s Best Documentary award.

This is the untold story of a young Danish woman’s life, searching for greater levels of perception in the 1960’s until as an adult, she became a pillar of living Buddhism and one of the first Buddhist pioneers, with her husband Ole Nydahl.

“Hannah” is a story of love, learning, and living life to the fullest. The film is described as a inspiring, heartwarming and heart-wrenching true story that offers audiences a rare insight into the world of Buddhism and how it made its way to the West, against all odds. For the first time ever viewers will have the opportunity to experience the spiritual journey and endurance test of a lifetime – the life story of Hannah Nydahl, whose extreme perseverance and dedication brought the message of ultimate freedom to thousands of people around the globe.

“Through first-hand accounts and rare footage from inside the heart of Kathmandu and Rumtek, Hannah is a breathtakingly powerful adventure that chronicles the way in which one woman touched and inspired generations.” Said the film’s co director/producer Adam Penny.

Co Director/Producer Marta György Kessler spent 15 years traveling with Hannah Nydahl and some of the most renowned Buddhist Lamas, before her directorial debut with the film:

“In creating this film we wanted to make something that was like no other documentary on a Buddhist teacher,” said Kessler. “Hannah and the people who know her best guide audiences through an incredible journey of a life dedicated to helping people understand the limitless potential of what lies within.”

The film was edited by Emmy Award-Winner Simon Barker (Pussy Riot: A Punk Praye) Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee, REAGAN – 2012 Emmy-winner for Outstanding Historical Documentary and 9/11 Heroes of the 88th Floor).
